Read-a-Thon Committee

The Read-a-Thon is our biggest fundraiser of the year—and it’s all about building a love of reading while raising essential funds for our school. It’s a key part of how we support field trips, classroom supplies, and PTO-sponsored events all year long.

Where we could use help:

This committee promotes the event, coordinates prizes and donations, and helps with decor and bringing the theme to life. Volunteers also help organize kick-off activities, work with teachers to encourage classroom participation, communicate with families throughout the event, and plan fun school-wide celebrations when goals are met.

When:

  • The event runs in September–October.

  • Planning begins over the summer and is heavy in Sept-Mid October.

Time Commitment:
Anywhere from 10–25 hours total, with most of the work in late summer and early fall.
